TER Base Series — Compact Rotary Limit Switch for Space-Constrained US Crane and Industrial Applications

TER Base Series is a compact rotary limit switch used to control and measure the movement of industrial machines, its compact size making it suitable for use in narrow spaces. The Base Series is the entry-level TER specification for US crane and hoist installations where available mounting space is constrained, switching point requirements do not exceed 4 points, and the enhanced circuit capacity, dual outputs, and extended mechanical life of higher TER series are not required. Consider the Base rotary limit switch for a cost-effective solution when available space is a constraint or when travel signal requirements don't exceed 4 points.  Base is a direct replacement for the original discontinued MF2C rotary limit switch.  Base is dimensionally and mechanically identical to MF2C.

Base Series rotary limit switches consist of a gear motor that transfers movement through a primary input reduction stage using worm gear and helical toothed gear, and one or more secondary output stages using pairs of straight toothed gears. Accurate adjustment of cams is achieved by means of screws, with positive opening NC contacts for safety functions. Mechanical life of switches is 1 million operations. Reduction ratios span 1:15 to 1:1500, covering the standard range of crane drive shaft rotation requirements for bridge, trolley, and hoist travel limit applications. Maximum rotation speed is 800 RPM. Microswitches are rated up to 250V / 3 Amps. Optional accessories include shaft mount pinion gears, flexible input shafts, couplings, and flanges.

IP protection degree covers IP42, IP65, IP66, IP67, and IP69K. NEMA protection degree is Type 3 for IP66/IP67/IP69K versions and Type 1 for IP42. Operating and storage temperature range is -40°C to +80°C. CE, EAC, and cURus certifications are available on IP66/IP67/IP69K versions with up to 4 switches.

Crane-Controls.com stocks TER Base Series rotary limit switches across the standard ratio and switch count configurations for new US crane installations and direct replacement of existing Base or legacy MF2C Series systems. Crane-Controls.com's technical team provides pre-sale application support for Base Series switch selection, ratio specification, and cross-referencing of existing TER Base installations. OSHA and ASME B30 compliant installations supported.
