Power Electronics Micro-Speed MV-Ultra is a closed-loop vector drive for hoisting and lifting applications without a mechanical load brake — requiring an encoder for closed-loop control — and for travel motions requiring precise speed control of up to 6000:1. MV-Ultra is the current-generation successor to the Micro-Speed Multi-Vector, the industry's benchmark closed-loop hoist drive, combining the proven safety architecture and encoder-feedback control of the Multi-Vector platform with the full suite of advanced Ultra Series features that the previous generation could not provide. Available from 1HP through 300HP and beyond across all standard three-phase voltages, designed and manufactured in the United States at PE's East Dundee, Illinois facility.
MV-Ultra retains the complete safety feature set that defines the Multi-Vector as the standard closed-loop hoist drive specification in US no-load-brake hoist applications — Brake Test, Brake Control Check, Safety Start, Check-Load, Multi-Float, Quik-Stop, and encoder signal integrity verification — while adding Smart-Set parameter upload and download, EtherNet/IP for PLC integration, remote access data logging, and PE SAM 2 anti-sway control. As the hoist drive component of the PE SAM 2 system, MV-Ultra communicates detailed load position data to MX-Ultra travel drives — enabling super-fast crane acceleration and deceleration with virtually no load swing even during simultaneous hoist and travel motion. PE SAM 2 is unlockable via code with no additional sensors, encoders, or external equipment required, and represents the current state of the art in crane anti-sway performance when MV-Ultra hoist drives are paired with MX-Ultra travel drives.
