Duct-O-Bar Totally Enclosed Conductor Bar: Maximum Personnel Protection and Contamination Resistance for Food Processing and Hygiene-Critical Crane Applications
Duct-O-Bar Totally Enclosed is a variant of the standard Duct-O-Wire Figure Eight conductor bar system featuring one key distinction — rubber seals that close the open contact face at the bottom of the rail at all points except where the collector shoe is actively engaging the conductor. As the collector travels along the runway, the seals part to allow collector passage and close behind it — always maintaining a sealed rail profile along the full length of unoccupied conductor bar. All other system components — hangers, expansion joints, end caps, feed assemblies, and accessories — are identical to the standard Figure Eight system.
The rubber bottom seal is the correct specification in US industrial environments where the open contact face of standard conductor bar creates an unacceptable contamination or safety risk. Food and beverage processing facilities are the primary application — where hygiene requirements prohibit open electrical infrastructure above production areas and where particles, debris, and oxidation byproducts from an unsealed conductor surface represent a product contamination concern. Pharmaceutical manufacturing, clean room adjacent crane installations, and high-washdown environments where conductor bar is subject to direct water spray or pressure cleaning during sanitation cycles are additional US applications where the sealed profile addresses a specific facility requirement that standard Figure Eight cannot satisfy. Outside of these contamination-sensitive environments, the standard Duct-O-Bar Figure Eight is the appropriate specification.
Crane-Controls.com features Totally Enclosed conductor rails alongside the full standard Figure Eight component range for both new installations and replacement of sealed rails in existing systems.
Crane-Controls.com's technical team provides application support for buyers determining whether Totally Enclosed or standard Figure Eight is the correct specification for their facility requirements. OSHA, FDA, and ASME B30 compliant installations supported.
