Wampfler 0842 BoxLine: The Only Fully Enclosed Multipole Conductor Rail for US Crane and Safety-Critical Applications
Wampfler 0842 BoxLine is the only fully enclosed conductor rail system in the Wampfler range — a multipole box conductor rail engineered for overhead crane and industrial electrification applications where complete enclosure of energized conductors is a safety, hygiene, or contamination requirement that open, and partially insulated conductor rail systems cannot satisfy. Where every other conductor rail system in the Wampfler range, and the majority of conductor bar systems available in the US market, maintains an open contact face to allow collector shoe engagement, the 0842 BoxLine encloses all conductors within a sealed box profile with an optional sealing lip, providing the highest level of contact protection available in a straight-run multipole conductor rail system.
The 0842 BoxLine is rated from 10A to 140A at 80% duty cycle with a nominal voltage of 690V and standard rail length of 4000mm. The box profile outer dimensions are 56 x 90mm, available in 4, 5, 6, and 7-pole configurations to accommodate the full range of power and control circuit requirements encountered in multipole crane and industrial applications. Rail layout supports straight runs with curved tracks possible using factory-supplied arc elements — making the 0842 one of the few multipole conductor rail systems in the Wampfler range capable of accommodating non-linear track geometry. Collector insertion is from below. The system is rated for installation in both indoor and outdoor areas, which is particularly beneficial in the US where fully enclosed conductor rails are needed for locations that are partially outdoors or exposed to weather. The 0842 comes in insertion, clamp, bumper, or plug system options, making it adaptable for installation in various crane and industrial mounting situations where the BoxLine is required.
The optional sealing lip is the 0842's defining feature for contamination-sensitive US applications — closing the collector insertion gap along unoccupied sections of rail to prevent ingress of dust, debris, moisture, and contaminants that would degrade conductor surface integrity and collector contact reliability in open and partially insulated systems.
