The Micro-Speed® Smart-Move® variable frequency drives by Power Electronics are a compact series with a built-in braking resistor in every model. They’re designed for bridge, trolley, monorail, and hoist applications that need precise motor speed control.
The Smart-Move series includes MSM-R and MSM-RP models. The MSM4AR is an MSM-R unit rated 4 A and 2 HP (1.5 kW) at 460 VAC, with dual 208-230/460 VAC input, for bridge and trolley travel and, on hoists fitted with a Weston-style mechanical load brake, vertical lift motions. The built-in braking resistor eliminates the need for a separate external braking resistor in applications covered by the drive’s rating. The drive also includes I²T motor thermal protection, 115 VAC control inputs that can connect directly to compatible pendant or radio remote controls, two programmable auxiliary inputs, and a programmable relay output.
