The Micro-Speed® Smart-Move® variable frequency drives by Power Electronics are the most compact series the company offers, with a built-in braking resistor in every model. They’re designed for bridge, trolley, monorail, and hoist applications that need precise motor speed control.

The Smart-Move series is available in MSM-R, MSM-RP, and MSM-RH models. The MSM4ARP is an MSM-RP unit rated 4 A and 2 HP (1.5 kW) at 460 VAC, with dual 208-230/460 VAC input. It adds built-in, line-voltage-rated solid-state AC brake control, so no external brake contactor is required (travel motions only), saving panel space, components, and wiring. Its built-in braking resistor means no external regeneration resistor is needed, and it includes I²T motor thermal protection, 115 VAC control inputs that connect directly to a pendant or radio remote, two programmable auxiliary inputs, and a programmable relay output. For hoist applications with a mechanical load brake or self-locking worm drive, use the MSM-RH model instead.
